Tented House

Besides the high cost of living, another cost comes in the more natural form- termites. California is the biggest sand pile ever created. This is a picture, taken this afternoon, of our new home. I hate ants so you might imagine what I feel about termites but after this tenting process, we will stay on top of it and spray every few years to keep them away. Nothing like your investment disappearing... literally!

ugh. At least you're not living there yet. That would be a real pain! I hope that the neighbors keep up with the termites, too! If one house has them, surely the surrounding ones do, too. Maybe you'll inspire them!

We have to spray for termites again asap. It is so wet and low lying here.

So this is a preventative step? or are there little guys living there already? What a downside to home ownership, BUT on the bright side, you're both now home owners!!
CONGRATS!!

Termites are part of life here. If you don't spray every 2-3 years, they'll just come back. We've seen multi-million dollar home being tented. Guess the buggers don't discriminate!
