Random Thoughts

Do you ever feel like you are missing something out of life? I sure do. Lately, I find myself just restless, even though I have faith, family, and friends. The weather today has been perfect (i.e. 80F, blue sky, warm sunshine, beautiful fall colors on the trees) and yet, it is just hard to focus. Russell is a champ and plays well by himself so I don't have to worry about entertaining him too much anymore. It's not that I need to buy anything. I did something social today. Dan and I are doing well. I just feel like something is missing and whatever it is seems so far away.

I think that it is born into us to want more.... more something. You know the grass is always greener. I often feel like I am missing something. I pray for contentedness a lot and it really does help me. I am happy with my 5 year old mini-van, and I can tell you 5 years ago I never could have said that.

I know how you feel my friend. I know that doesn't help sometimes but I do understand. I hope that by the time you have gotten this, you would have had a very restful night. *BIG HUG*

Hi, Thanks for dropping by my blog. wrt your comment about healing ourselves. I must have written it wrongly. What the preacher was saying: in Isaiah 53:4-5, He hath borne our griefs, an carried our sorrows, and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.

Jesus took up all our sicknesses, diseases and griefs and carried all our sorrows and pains away. He told it on the cross in our place. Therefore, we don't have cope with them because we can overcome them through the work of the cross. We don't have to accept any form of sickness and diseases. It is up to US to remember what Jesus has done and resist and fight it off.

Of course, we don't have the power to heal ourselves. If I have written wrongly, I'm sorry. I definitely don't have the power to preach properly. :)
Also the preacher was speaking in the line whereby when we have faith, we will be healed. For example, in Matt 9:22, there's a woman with an issue of blood, Jesus said, "Be of good cheer, daughter: your FAITH has made you well". Remember that Jesus didn't even lay hands on her. It was the woman's faith who caused her to want to touch the hem of Jesus's garment.
I hope I've redeemed the preacher and didn't stain her reputation b'cos I mis-wrote.
Thanks for the feedback. i always think that bloggers are always too kind to say something when they read about things they don't agree. But you have shown me that we are still in a 'real' world whereby there are still opinions that need to be expressed.

I'm feeling a bit anxious about the season myself. Seems I made a bit of a pact with an old friend ;-) last year that by this time next year, we wouldn't be waiting around.

Ha, ha, ha!

It's hard to shake, that feeling.

I like what a pp mentioned, praying for contentment ... that sounds very appropriate.
