Lately, we've seen too much nature. I didn't think we'd be true 'city folk' but we are. Last week, when we were at the park, Dan noticed a black widow on the stone/brick wall where Russell was playing. I've never seen one before and ever since that day, I've been vigilant about watching the area. This morning, I woke up to find Dan on his hands/knees cleaning the carpet. We'd kept the window open for the cool night air but a sizable colony of ants found their way into the dining area and were feasting on Russell's dried snack food (cranberries, raisins) and my carmel Torani bottle. We haven't had an 'outbreak' of ants since January '06 when Laura and Kris visited (so sorry!). I really do hate anything that crawls or creeps and thankfully, we haven't seen a rattlesnake that is warned about in the HOA newsletters...

Eek. But on a bright note, Ana seems to like the picture. :)
I even know a few country folk who are afraid of creepy crawly things. Did I ever tell you about the time I had to use a pit toilet where a dead tarantula was about 5 inches from my foot? Ewe.
Ewwww! Ugly creatures they are. Yeck! When we went camping a few weekends ago, while I was running back to my tent to get something, I was stopped by a huge tarantula making its way to MY TENT! Ack! Finally, Maria's husband got it from under our tent and took it to "safety" to some brush. Yeck!
Hi Hillary! No baby yet but *promise* you will be emailed when she arrives. (and I'm going to get Steve to set up a Flickr for piccies once he comes home)
Yikes about the black widow....they aren't prevalent here which is a happy thing. I'm not a spider girl at all. (perhaps being allergic to their bites has something to do with it!) Hope you've managed to rid yourself of the ants...man do they ever like to hang on!
Speak soon (I hope!)
